After having three children, it’s about time I took my number one on another mom-daughter getaway! And what perfect timing…Noelle is now a teen.
I recall the first time I took her to Hong Kong.. she was only 3 years old. Our very first trip alone, me thinking “aaaw how cute, traveling with my toddler.. just me and her.” and man… that was definitely NOT a good idea. Hahaha. I do not recommend it. In between walks had to carry her, fold the stroller by the MTR, while carrying all the shopping bags. . Get the picture? Mother, harassed!
Thank God it was nothing like that this time around! It was more like a trip with a girl friend. We shared each others clothes, shopped for a lot of the same things… and didn’t mind the long walks!
I was joking her that it was her turn to carry me…like payback! But of course she was like “mooooommmm noooo!”
What’s funny is that we both wanted to document this trip, Noelle with her vlog.. and I with Instagram photos. (I know right, such millenials.) Haha!
And that’s why Sweet Escape was the best idea ever! I mean just look at all the photos we have. Wouldn’t have been able to capture anything like it.
Sweet Escape is basically an app which links you to photographers all over the world. Pick a date, a country and then Sweet Escape assigns one to you.
The HK based photographer assigned to us was Jeffrey Chow. It was pretty cool because he also took us to places that only locals would know. We had so much fun!
Who would’ve thought that one of the best views of Hong Kong was at a parking lot? Or that this little structure by the ferry station made the most dramatic shot!
A tour and photo session in one!
Snap, snap, snapping away!
We got asked tons of times if we were sisters… everyone got the shock of their lives when they found out we weren’t!
We even stopped for some soft serve!
Then we decided to jump on the ferry for some spontaneous fun!
That meant more fun photos for both of us! Weeeee!
But wait there’s more!
Sick of us yet!? Hahaha
Well I hope not!
Before I go, wanted to share the link to Noelle’s vlog on YouTube … Interesting to see things from her perspective. She calls this “The First Noelle” series, so click HERE and show her some love!

And lastly, If you’ve got a daughter, why don’t you start planning a trip together for 2018? It’s gonna be really fun!
And as we all prepare for tonight’s festivities, may your hearts be full and overflowing with joy and hope as we ring in the new year!
2018 will be amazing!
Thank you Jesus for everything!
