Going Back to Firsts

Going Back to Firsts

Let’s rewind please! Or even better, hit the pause button… because time just zoomed by. Maxen is a walking little man!

Seems like it was only yesterday when his first crawl was SUCH a BIG deal- and now he’s like THE FLASH! I know all mom’s can definitely relate!

It’s hilarious actually how so many things topple over when that tiny person cruises by. It’s unnatural if everything remains untouched actually! Haha. Do you agree??

Cliche as it may sound, They just GROW UP SO FAST!

In just a span of 7 months….from this…..

To this!

Throwback to his very FIRST MEAL at 6 months!!!

A baby’s first meal is always a BIG deal and must be documented. And so is every other thing a mother has to document a gazillion more times!!

For instance, facial expressions like these. Hahaha!

But for first time moms, before we even go there, here are just a few things to remember and consider.

When to start solids: Ideally at 6 months

What to introduce first: Generally, it’s best to introduce something bland- nothing too sweet or savory, nothing to overwhelm them. Like with Maxen, we fed him Quinoa Cereal from Healthy Options- mixed with some breastmilk.

Things you need: A high chair, a baby spoon, feeding dish, a cup and of course a bib, like these ones from Oxotot.

This was also the first time I introduced water to him… He didn’t like drinking through the spout so what’s nice about this training cup from Oxotot is that it works as a regular drinking cup too! It was perfect… and since then, he has always drank from a cup!

A lot of you have asked how we did it- this is exactly it! Anything you introduce for the FIRST time makes the difference.

With Maxen being my third child, I wanted to be practical but at the same time – I made sure to choose premium items to last him a long time. It matters to me also how his things look! I prefer sleek & classic items over the trendy ones which is why I chose Oxotot for all his feeding needs (including his food storage tray and his cereal keeper!)

You such a cutieeee Maxen!!!! I love you!!!

If you might recall, I posted a video on Instagram when we first fed him! It was the sweetest family affair! If you have time, Just type in #ourmartinezsquad and you’ll find it.

Oh and before I end this, I also got his little potty seat from Oxotot as well! Love how Maxen uses it both as a seat on our toilet & use ialone as a potty. Definitely value for money!!!

‘Till the next awesome mommy find!

xxMikaela
