Bali

Bali

I’ve been to Indonesia before, Jakarta..but believe it or not, this was my first visit to Bali. And can I just say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT….so much that I am definitely planning another trip back!

I honestly never really considered traveling to Bali because people would always say we have better beaches in the Philippines..although I do agree with this statement..

Bali was not about the beaches…it was the culture, vibe, and charm that totally got me!

This trip was extra special because it was also my first one out with my girlfriends since I gave birth to Maxen. I was bummed that my trip to Mexico got cancelled because of the disaster that occurred.. So, I literally called two of my gals (who have been my friends for over a decade) Bubbles & Maggie, and asked if they wanted to join me! And so Bali happened.

I didn’t realize that direct flights to Bali were at really odd & limited hours- so I used the Traveloka app to get us the best deal. We took PAL on a 9pm flight..and home after 4 days aboard a 1am flight. There’s really no other choice unless you wanna do layovers. (Doesn’t make sense ‘coz it’s only about 3 hours away! So PAL seemed like it was the most convenient option.)

I mean we planned the trip in two days, so it was pretty impressive how we pulled through. Our itinerary was all planned on the way there using Instagram! Haha! We checked on bloggers tags, location spots and hashtags…and that’s how we found everything!

Like our villa..we literally searched for a good deal on Traveloka as well! Our private villa called Bale Gede was on a 50% off promo- so we pretty much had a massive villa for only about P10,000 a night plus, they cooked us our own breakfast every morning.

Location was decent, however I would’ve opted for a place that was along the main road with all the restaurants and shops. But the service and staff were great- they were all so helpful and kind.

FOOD WAS EXCELLENT! Every place we ate at was not only delicious but totally photogenic!

A must. MOTEL MEXICOLA- just the most legit Mexican food!

And yes, we just had to take a million photos because how can you not?!

Another place for snacks and dessert was the KYND COMMUNITY.

Their Smoothie bowls are exactly what you need for a picture perfect photo!

The infamous POTATO HEAD BEACH CLUB of course..

You can actually hang out during the day for some sun and sangria…

..but at night,it’s also an excellent place for dinner!

Another great place for dinner and drinks is KU DE TA- also a beach club.

At night, it’s got a nice, romantic feel. We had a delicious bottle of red wine paired with mouth watering steak! Highly recommend it!

Oh another place worth eating at is called THE JUNCTION HOUSE.

What I love about Bali is that each restaurant is picturesque! Amazing interiors, and equally amazing food!!! Too much!

And to think we just stumbled upon this place while shopping the markets!

The following morning, we went on a little adventure. We hired a driver for the day and drove up 2 hours for a grand sight to see, the Ulutwatu Temple.

Our day wasn’t over as we had made plans to visit Teganungan falls!

This was the view from the top… we had to walk down and climb up hundreds of stairs just to get closer.

We had to ask another tourist to take our photo!

But of course, we did an extra trek up another waterfall for another one. Oh the things we do.

Then we stopped at a coffee plantation called AlamSari where they gave us a little tour and intro on Civit coffee, Coconut coffee and even some fresh tea!

So delicious, so refreshing! We took home soo much! Haha!

I have to say shopping in Bali was amazing.. not the designer type of shopping though… but beautiful, local crafts and pieces for the home!

There was a wide selection in various price ranges, and we all wished we could take everything with us!

We ended up traveling home with two additional balikbayan boxes with all sorts of things like some swings, and other knick knacks.

Four days was just a little too short, but good enough just to get a taste of what Bali was all about.

I would definitely stay longer next time!

BALI you are gorgeous..I will see you again soon!
